One segment down, two segments down. The Dartmouth (or “D”) series of spans are getting replaced one by one, marking the beginning of the “meat” of The Big Lift. If you’re not a civil engineering enthusiast, it might be difficult to see why they’re calling this “a project for the generations”. And we think that’s a shame, because this committed team of workers are pulling off something quite daring. As Jon puts it, “If it was easy, this wouldn’t be the second time in the word this has been done.” With the initial spans under their belts, we wanted to let the engineers express what they have staked in this massive feat of engineering.
